Inspired by the Dada art movement, the night will be a mind-stretching pastiche of captivating entertainment, fashion, art experiences and one of the most coveted art auctions in the country. Join us for an unforgettable night where palpable energy and community spirit converge to make a lasting impact on Contemporary Calgary's programs and exhibitions.
The LOOK 2024 theme embodies innovation and creativity, drawing inspiration from both Contemporary Calgary and the Dada art movement. While we embrace the avant-garde, expect the unexpected and prepare to be surprised. Every gala ticket includes a complimentary 1-year membership to Contemporary Calgary. This is an 18+ event.
What To Wear?
We invite guests to channel the avant-garde spirit of Dadaism while embracing formal attire with a playful twist. Think eccentric accessories, mismatched patterns, bold colours, and perhaps even elements of absurdity or surrealism. We encourage you to get creative and experiment, mixing high fashion with unexpected elements to embody the whimsical and rebellious nature of the Dada art movement.
Auction Details
The silent auction opens on May 2, 2024, at 12 PM (noon) and closes end of day on May 25, at midnight. The live auction will commence at Contemporary Calgary at 8:30 PM on May 25, 2024. A VIP Dinner or Cabaret ticket to LOOK: The Dada Ball is required to attend the live auction.
How to Bid and Donate
Use the top-left menu to view Silent Auction Items, access My Bids or Make a Donation.
To bid, select an item, enter your amount and then click 'Place Bid'. Use the 'Max Bid' function and the system will automatically bid for you up to the amount entered.
Register your details and then 'Confirm Your Bid'.
Receive outbid text notifications and bid again!
If you are at the event, keep an eye on the leaderboard screens to see if you're still the leading bidder!

From May 2-23, 2024 you can visit Contemporary Calgary to view both live and silent auction pieces in person. Our galleries are open Wednesday– Saturday (12 PM – 7 PM) and Sunday (12 PM – 5 PM).
