Events FAQ

Our event inquiries are managed by an external company, The Commons, please fill out the online form to inquire about availability. A member of the Events team will get back to you within 1-2 weeks.

Site visits are by appointment only as we cannot guarantee availability for walk-ins. Site visits must be scheduled in advance and must take place during business hours Mon-Fri 9AM-4PM. To view the spaces virtually please click here.

No, gallery access may be added to your rental for an additional fee.

No, only the viewing of artwork is permitted in the galleries.

Contemporary Calgary requires all load-in for events to take place outside operational hours to respect those who are visiting the gallery exhibitions. Events that take place in public areas in the building must begin set-up after 7PM. 

There is a limited amount of storage space available at Contemporary Calgary, we ask that you remove all external event supplies post event as we cannot guarantee proper storage.

To ensure the safety of the valuable works of art housed within the gallery, we cannot permit flames, grills, propane, pyrotechnics, sand, soil, confetti, fog machines and drones. All decor items must be free-standing or affixed with a removable non-damaging material. Any damages to walls (scuffs, chipped paint, holes, etc) will incur additional repair costs at the expense of the client.

No, the gallery does not provide any event-related supplies.

Paid on-site visitor parking is available at Calgary Parking Authority Lot 61 (Zone 9061), accessible via 11th Street and 6th Avenue. Additionally, we are conveniently located next to the Downtown-West Kerby C-Train station.

All clients, vendors, staff, volunteers and guests must park in the designated CPA Lot 61. Should you wish to reserve spots within the lot, please reach out to the City of Calgary Parking Authority to obtain an event parking code.
