VOLUNTEER
About the Volunteer Program
Contemporary Calgary’s Volunteer Program brings together a vibrant community of over 100 individuals across three key areas: Exhibition Volunteers, Education Volunteers, and Event Volunteers. Our program is thoughtfully designed to provide meaningful opportunities for engagement, learning, and connection, while directly supporting the arts in Calgary. Volunteers are celebrated year-round through appreciation events, exclusive artist-led exhibition tours, and other special opportunities. We foster a welcoming, inclusive environment where volunteers can connect with peers, build relationships with local artists and creatives, and immerse themselves in Calgary’s dynamic contemporary art scene. We invite you to explore our current and upcoming roles:
Exhibition Volunteer
As an Exhibition Volunteer, you will help visitors connect with our artworks, provide assistance, and create a welcoming environment. Your involvement is essential in enhancing the visitor experience. Submissions for this role are open, please see here for more information.
Events Volunteer
As an Events Volunteer, you will play a vital role in the success of our special events, such as the LOOK Gala, Free First Thursdays, and Stampede Breakfast. Your contributions will help create unforgettable experiences. Submissions for this role are open, please see here for more information.
Education Volunteer
As an Education Volunteer, you will support program delivery for our Contemporary Kids workshops and school trips, fostering creativity and an appreciation for contemporary art. Submissions for this role are currently closed but will reopen in 2025.
Important Information
After submitting your interest in any of these volunteer roles, you will be invited to participate in an informal group interview or a one-on-one meeting with the Manager of Visitor Experience.
