CHIEF CURATOR

Contemporary Calgary is accepting applications for the role of Chief Curator. This position is responsible for all programs at Contemporary Calgary. As the leader of the Programming department, the Chief Curator is a passionate advocate for the visual arts, is able to provoke and engage a diverse public and helps to ensure Contemporary Calgary’s next generation of support. The vision, dynamism and leadership of the Chief Curator is essential to the aspirations and to the future of Contemporary Calgary.

YOUNG CANADA WORKS SUMMER STUDENT / COMMUNICATIONS & PUBLIC PROGRAMS ASSISTANT

Contemporary Calgary seeks applications for the position of Communications & Public Programs Assistant. Reporting to the Communications, Memberships & Events Coordinator and the Public Programs Coordinator & Curatorial Assistant, the Communications & Public Programs Assistant will provide assistance with the development and execution of our ongoing public programs, outreach, and marketing efforts.

The ideal candidate for this position will be pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree or a bachelor's degree in another arts-related field. They will have excellent organizational and planning skills with demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines, competency in both the Office and Adobe suites, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Fluency in French is considered an asset but is not required.

To coincide with scheduled programming and events, the successful candidate must be willing to work Sundays-Thursdays and assist with front of house responsibilities where required.

SUMMER GALLERY ATTENDANT

Contemporary Calgary’s Gallery Attendant will b responsible for establishing a welcoming atmosphere by greeting members of the public and providing information on the organization and programming, while ensuring the security of the building and the artwork. Th successful candidate must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional evenings to assist with programs and special events.

In addition, the Gallery Attendant will be responsible for assisting gallery staff with a variety of important administrative tasks.
