Calgary on Purpose: An Evening of Conversation and Connection

  • Contemporary Calgary 701 11 Street Southwest Calgary, AB, T2P 2C4 Canada (map)

Calgary on Purpose

Please join us on Tuesday, November 22nd at 7 pm for an evening of companionship and rich conversation about our remarkable City.

We, Calgary on Purpose and Contemporary Calgary, are building on our "Evenings of Conversation and Connection" at Contemporary Calgary on May 4 and September 13.

Hosted by passionate facilitator Dave Kelly, the November 22 event will feature three creative Calgarians showing brief excerpts of their work that reflect our city. They are Contemporary Calgary's inaugural Ksahkomiitapiks artist in residence Star Crop Eared Wolf, choreographer and interdisciplinary performance maker Pam Tzeng and passionate artist, entrepreneur, actor and mother Mandy Stobo. Dave will use their presentations as "ice breakers" to engage the rest of us in sharing our perceptions of, and our hopes for this city of possibilities.

The program will complete by 8:30 pm followed by a reception for those wishing to stay and chat further. We will set up a "speakers corner" and other stations where you can share your thoughts about Calgary and what the city means to you, its challenges and its possibilities.

The evening is FREE but we ask that you register so we can guarantee your seat. The intent of the evening is to narrow the gaps that separate us from each other by learning more about each other as neighbours on this land. Join us on this journey of lessening fragmentation and building shared purpose and please share this invitation with friends, family and fellow Calgarians.
